Once that was out the way I then started to create the roof which was a pain at first but with the tutorial and Simons help I flew right through. Had to Vector each little point and Extrude them to make them round and smooth to resemble the roof, even though it doesn’t seem a lot within today’s session but it actually just took a while to get to grips with.

Unit 2: Maya Session 2.0
Within this Maya session I started off by uploading the scene and setting the project. After that was done I then moved onto uploading the side image and front image off Hotel du Louvre to get a base for me to model around. This was the easy bit over I then moved onto creating a cube which I then stretched out to fit the size of the front image.
Unit 2: Maya Session 1.0
Within this unit we had a mini task to do within the five week project using Maya, we had to create and design a building.
The building we had to model was a five star “Hotel du Louvre” which is a beautiful building built in Paris; it is renowned for its amazing architecture and history of famous and well known people that have stayed within its premises.

Unit 2: Photoshop Session 1.0
Within this session I used one of my thumbnails as a base to create a draft for my first extract. Before I started to design my thumbnail on Photoshop, Photoshop Phil taught us about the perspective exercises. I did one within my design so I could get an idea of how to layout my design and the point of the perspective for the viewer.
The first print screen is showing what the perspective lines look like and you can work around them, you don’t have to but it helps and with this it can help make a more dramatic and cinematic concept piece.
Here are the other drafts that I print screened of my work within this session on how I started to build it up, firstly by doing it as a silhouette, and then adding colour to block out certain points.

Influence Map 8.0 - Thunderstorms (Extract 3)
This is my eighth influence map which is based around thunderstorms which I believe is a key part within the last extract. Making sure that I put a lot of effort into all three concepts especially the last one because I feel that this one will be the hard one.
Influence Map 7.0 - Quarries (Extract 3)
Here is my seventh influence map which are images about quarries, I loved the idea of quarries and how it described in the extract that there was a shell like area which seemed like there was an ocean before gave me the idea to look for quarries to start some thumbnails around the idea. These have been quite influential so far.
Influence Map 6.0 - Dinosaur Fossils (Extract 3)
This is my sixth influence map and I have come across these images that have influence me for my third concept piece ideas. The third extract was the hardest I thought to get an understanding on how to plan my work out from its content. I have an idea now, and with these maps this will help a lot.
